Dave has been wanting to get the twins a hair cut for months. I finally agreed it was time :). They were so good!! It was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. We got so many good pictures, I had to share.

Happy Birthday Tim and Chris!

We had a bbq and cake party to celebrate Tim and Chris' birthday. My baby boys are now 1 year olds!

My friend Carly made these AMAZING cakes. I call the babies my little bugs, so the smash cakes had to be little bugs.

What is this?

It's a Girl!!!

We had our anatomy check ultra sound today. The ultra sound started with a relief: there was still only one baby. And then the big news. We are having a girl!!!!!!!!!!! The tech got a picture and said "this is 100% a girl." She even showed me her little girl parts. I had to put my hand over my mouth to keep from screaming. I can't believe it!! I'm so happy :)

Here is my little girl!

Yay!

Half Way Home, Literally

July 8, 2011 means today Dave hit 10 years of active duty in the Army (half way to a military retirement). I'm probably one of the very few who cares about that kind of thing, but I am excited. It has been an eventful 10 years. Here is the short version: 5 years at Fort Campbell where we endured separation while I finished college, two 12 month deployments, got married, and bought our first house. 3 years at The Army Baylor physical therapy school where Dave got a Doctorate of Physical Therapy, I became Catholic, and we had our first child. 2 years at Fort Belvoir where began his physical therapy career, we had twins and now have another baby heading our way.

If I'm being honest, I would have to admit that the Army is not my first choice of life paths. The two back to back deployments just weren't worth it. I also prefer the idea of staying in one place and that place being somewhere in Southern California. That being said, we have been very happy. Isn't that what really matters? I almost never complain because the Army has brought so many wonderful things into our lives!! Dave had college mostly and pt school totally paid for by the Army. We have always had job stability and a dependable pay check. We have lived in and experienced three completely different areas of the country. The best part has been the people. I have gotten to know some truly amazing people with completely different backgrounds. Besides all the joy and support friends give,  I have learned so much about how what kind of person, wife, and mother I want to be. I can't imagine that the next 10 years will be as eventful as the first, but it is exciting to see where the Army will take us next!

4th of July Weekend

We had a nice 4th of July weekend.

Thursday was Dave's last day at Fort Belvoir's PT Clinic. They had a nice going away party for him at a Japanese hibachi restaurant. I'm sad to see this job end because it was the PERFECT first assignment for Dave. I know how much he loved working there. As a spouse, I couldn't have asked for more - he came home happy everyday, they didn't make any demands on him outside of normal working hours, and they paid for both his licensing exam and OCS exam. Dave will now be working at the Pentagon as the Clinic Chief.

Friday we went to the National Archives. It was a beautiful day to head downtown. Those with military IDs get to skip the line which was awesome. We saw an original copy of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Very worthwhile trip!

On the 4th we went to a fun little parade in the morning and the Fort Belvoir fireworks show at night.

I dressed the boys in red, white, and blue. I was surprised at how many people noticed!

Jack loved the fireworks!
