Jack's first Baseball Game

It's back to reality for us. I don't have my mom here anymore to help take care of Jack, and Dave had his first 5 day work week in three weeks. On Wednesday, someone came into the hospital and offered Dave free tickets (awesome seats too) to the Nationals baseball game. We were able to take the metro right to the front of the stadium. Everyone on the metro had Zimmerman shirts on. He was certainly their star. My favorite parts of the game were when he him hit a home run and when one of his hits broke the bat in half. The Nationals won in the 9th inning.
We also had the pleasure yesterday of meeting the Miss Naomi Anne Boland who was born on September 24th to Jay and Susie Boland. She is a sweet and perfect little baby.
Arriving to the Game
We couldn't get Jack to look at the camera but you can see our unzoomed in view

Atlantis

September 18th was our 5th wedding anniversary. About a month ago, my mom volunteered to watch Jack if we wanted to go somewhere for our anniversary. A few days earlier, I had seen an ad for almost half off at the Atlantis in the Bahamas which is a hotel that I had always wanted to try. Dave and I spent three nights (just us) at the Cove Atlantis. It was heavenly, and Jack did very well for my mom.
We got there and found out that the hotel was only 18% occupied. We had all the pools and beaches to ourselves, and we even got upgraded to a deluxe ocean suite! The picture above was the view from our room :). The hotel was amazing. It has three beaches and 6 pools. My favorite part the lazy river. You could grab single or double rafts and float all around the property.
My favorite pool was this one that had "ancient relics" and two water falls. It was beautiful and we had it all to ourselves!

There were about 10 water slides at this hotel. Three of them go through a shark tank! Here is Dave going down the big drop which lands under the tank
Before we even went on the trip people were saying we have to go take pictures on "the chair." Everyone was taking pictures on it .... I'm not sure why, but we did it too :)

11 Months Later

Here is my 11 month old baby boy! It feels like he's almost not even a baby anymore - we'll wait until he's walking before I call him my toddler. A few days ago marked the official end of breast feeding. We made it 11 months and 1 week which I happen to think is pretty good. I'm pretty sure that our journey with cloth diapers is over as well - the diapers just smell way more than when he was breast feeding. Sorry if that is too much information for those of you without babies.
I'm feeling fully recovered from pregnancy these days. I weigh 10 pounds less then I did when I got pregnant. I regularly get the comment "you look great." I feel great and have been in the best mood too! I think it's largely from being in shape (relatively speaking of course). I've been running 3 days a week. Last week I did a 4 mile run averaging just under 8:40 pace. I did 8 miles (slowly) yesterday which is only 2 less then I will do October 4th at the Army 10 miler. The 10 miler will be a race of completion and I'm not going to worry about my time.
These are a few pictures we took of Jack last week on this little chair. If you look closely you can see his little curls :)

Country Music, Outter Space, and Political Adventures

We drove out to Fort Campbell for the long weekend. We went to a football game with our friends Bill and Kim, spent some time in downtown Nashville, visited our favorite restaurants, and saw our former neighbors. I stayed for a few extra days and my mom drove back home with me and is staying for a week. Today we decided to head over the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. IT WAS AWESOME! I have been told it's the best one, and I think that is debatable, but it was really special. Coincidentally the Tea Party group was doing a health care/obama/spending protest on the Capital's lawn. It took us about an hour but we "marched" to the front of the protest right outside the Capital building. It was amazing to feel all the energy that was there.Dave, Bill, and Kim had never toured the Ryman so we had to do that while we were in Nashville
Apollo 11 command module that landed on the moon The first thing we saw from the protest was this Obamacare Hertz - hilarious
Everyone had these great signs
Drudgereport.com and Fox News both had big stories about the protest. How cool is it that I was there!!!!

September is Here!

It's offically September. I think September is my favorite month of the year - probably why I got married in September. In California, Texas, and Tennessee, September brought the best weather of the year. Virginia seems to be no exception. It has been beautiful the last few days. I have to say, the summer weather here has been pretty good. Except for a few weeks in August, it was always in the 80s and the humidity was nothing compaired to Texas or Tennessee. I hear that we live far enough north to escape the horrible heat/humidity, but far enough south to escape the horrible snow/cold winter.
I wanted to do something to enjoy the beautiful weather, so yesterday, we went to an amazing park. I couldn't get a good picture of the whole thing because it was so big. It's all soft rubbery ground and full of colorful play structures (perfect for Jack). They built the entire playground to be wheelchair accessable. How cool is that?
I love to climb the slide I did it ... I'm such a little boy already :)

I love yellow
I want to fly

I'm flying! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee
