Go Rattle!

Jack used to not really care about rattles, but this past week he became more interested in them. I had one out today and i shook it in front of him. He reached out with both hands and held on to it!!! I just about died. He held on to it for about a minute before dropping it. I kept handing it back to him and he would hold it. He really was interested in it and at one point he started talking to it. I love it!!

Hear he is putting it in his mouth. Yum?
It was hard to get one where the rattle wasn't blurry because he was moving it. You can see here that he was talking to it :)

Favorite Shows

In 2005 and 2006, I would have told you that American Idol was my favorite show. In 2007 and 2008, I would have told you that LOST was my favorite show. While I was pregnant, Dave and I watched the first 6 seasons of 24 on dvd. I was stuck on the couch and it was something fun to do. I loved it, but I don't think that I would have said it was better than LOST. All three shows have started back up now (yay). In 2009, I have to say that 24 is now my favorite show. This season is really good so far!
Alias and Friends (and Dave will yell at me if I don't admit to 90210) are still my all time favorites - but AI, 24, and LOST are way up there!
OK and what is up with shows only running in the spring now? I hate that!!! It works for American Idol, but the others have no excuse! Maybe 24 does have the excuse of only being able to air 24 episodes ..... hehe

Sleeping Baby

Today I was wondering - is everyone as fascinated with their baby sleeping as I am? I know Dave is because he always wants to take pictures of Jack sleeping. These pictures can't even capture how sweet it looks in person. He is so peaceful and it makes my heart melt just to watch him. Sleeping baby also means I can actually do a few things for myself. I do like that too hehe.

I also have a small update - Jack has started grabbing onto things. Usually blankets or my hair, but yesterday he moved a rattle. We were pretty excited about that :)

Excitement

This has been a big week for Jack. He hit two milestones. He can now roll from his back to his tummy. He has also started laughing. It's so exciting to watch him develop!!
The first laugh came on sunday when Dave was making funny noises and tickling him. Jack just started laughing. We were so excited. The first roll was on Monday. I had him on the ground in the living room and went into the kitchen (I can see into the living room from the kitchen). I heard a little noise, looked over, and there he was on his tummy. Everytime that I put him on the ground he will roll over within a minute. It's so fun to watch him go ... :).

Tagged

I got tagged by my friend Alyssa to upload my fifth picture from my fifth folder on my computer. This is it - snowing in front of our house in Clarksville. It's not the best quality of picture because it's so dark., but at least you can tell that it is snowing.
I'll tag sarah and susie .... :)

and I'm off!

I started running again!! Right now I am doing the walk to run progression that Dave gives his patients. I alternate quarter mile walk and quarter mile run for 2 miles (so a mile of walking and a mile of running total). Since I did end up with an entire year off of running, this is actually a hard work out for me. I have to start somewhere.

My sister in law keeps her total mileage on the side of her blog. I may do that too, mostly as accountability for myself but also for people to see :).

It was cold the other day and so I took a picture of Jack all bundled up in his stroller.

Vacation

Dave had to go back to work today, thus ending his 16 days of vacation. It was a nice break. We spent 11 days in California and 5 days here in San Antonio. Our trip to California was fabulous, as always. We got to see a lot of family, friends, and beautiful weather. Those are the things i miss the most about California - plus the beach and In-N-Out. The last few days of our trip were esspecially beautiful. We took some pictures at the harbor down the street from my parent's house. The past few days here in San Antonio were mostly quiet and relaxing. On Saturday, we got to see the Chargers beat the Colts in what I thought was the best football game of the season.

I thought this was interesting. I read it on the Tournament of Roses website:
"In New York, people are buried in snow," announced Professor Charles F. Holder at a Club meeting. "Here our flowers are blooming and our oranges are about to bear. Let's hold a festival to tell the world about our paradise."

Jack looks like he is thinking - "Ok Mom, I am done with these pictures."

Go Chargers!

For Christmas, Dave and I got tickets to the Chargers vs. Broncos game. We were able to get 50 yard line, home side, field level seats because the Chargers were not playing well at the time. They managed to turn their season around, and this game ended up being for the AFC West championship title.
Having never been to a Chargers game, We thought getting there an hour before the game would give us enough time to park at the stadium. As it turns out, that is not enough time. The parking lot was full and we drove around for half an hour looking for a parking spot on the street. We managed to find some guy 1/2 a mile from the stadium to sell us his parking spot on the street. We ran down to the stadium and got in our seats just in time for kick off.
We had a wonderful time at the game. It was fun to watch the Chargers CRUSH the Broncos. After the game, we stopped by In-N-Out for dinner. What a way to end the night!
