Dr. Boland

Dave graduated from the US Army-Baylor Physical Therapy school this past Thursday. My parents and Dave's parents flew out for it, and we had quite the celebration. Wednesday night there was a class dinner, Thursday was the ceremony, Thursday afternoon Dave arranged for 50 people to get a tour of the Center for the Intrepid, and Thursday night we had a family celebration. Everything went really well, and I am very proud of Dave for all his hard work!

Some New Things

Jack has been doing some new and exciting things the past few weeks. I really like this age. He is sleeping well and I love how interactive he has become. He likes toys and constantly wants to touch whatever I am holding. I feel like I have everything down/under control. I'm sure that all changes once he gets mobile, but it's nice for now :).
We went to a pool party this weekend, and Jack went in the pool for the first time. This picture captures how it went. He wasn't mad, but he didn't really like it. Dave and I had a wonderful time.

This is the little red chair Jack sits in when he eats his rice cereal. The chair came with a toy we can snap into the tray. Jack LOVES it.

Our New Home!

We just signed a contract for our new place!! We finally found someone who would do an April 15th lease. It is in the town of Lorton and less than 5 miles from Ft Belvoir. Ours will be the one that is 3rd from the left. It's 3 bedrooms, 3 and a half bathrooms, living room, formal dinning area, big eat in kitchen, and downstairs family room. High ceilings, big rooms, and hard wood floors :).

This is a picture from the dinning area into the living room. I really like the big windows.

This will be my kitchen. I wonder if I will get much use out of the 2 ovens? I've never had an island before, and so I find that exciting :).

I am excited!

Happy Birthday to Me :)

Yesterday was my birthday. Thank you to everyone who called, emailed, and sent cards. It was a great day. I went to Pizza Hut with some friends for lunch, and then we went down to the San Marcos outlet mall where I bought way too much stuff. Last night, Dave and I went to this french restaurant that I have wanted to try since we got here. Every time I have called them in the past, they were full. Dave was able to get reservations for last night, and we found out why it is always full - there are only 10 tables. My gift from Dave was a day at the spa, and I am very much looking forward to that!

Someone asked me the other day if there were any famous people born on March 10th. I didn’t know of any so I looked it up. Osama Bin Laden. Lovely. At least Carried Underwood and Chuck Norris are born on March 10th as well.

WOOHOO!!

Jack usually goes to bed sometime between 7 and 8 depending on what we are doing or when he gets tired. He will sleep in his crib until about 1 am. At that point he wants to eat every two or three hours until 7ish when he wakes up for the day. This is a picture from what I woke up to last weekend.

Last night, Jack slept through the night!! 8pm to 6:30am. I am soooooooooo happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took 5 months to the day. Now that he is 5 months old, we are also going to start some solid food this weekend (rice cereal). I am told that helps kids sleep through the night as well. WOOHOO!!

And So It Begins ......

My mom came out this weekend to watch Jack so that Dave and I could get a head start on packing. Our goal is to go through everything and get rid of what we don't need and organize/pack the rest. We made it through our entire garage and about half of our office room. The best part is that we went through our actual computer and backed everything up on an external hard drive. I know that was a project that wouldn't have happened but not for the move. These are some of the boxes we have packed up so far. It's kind of a silly picture, but I like to include pictures. We also had about 6 trash bags to throw away or give to good will. I feel so good about how much have so far!
6 weeks to go .....
